NMSU defeated Texas-Pan American, 30-23, 30-18 and 30-24 at the UTPA Fieldhouse. Junior outside hitter Jaclyn Muszynski (Walnut, CA/Walnut HS) had 12 kills and seven digs to lead the Lady Broncs. "We played better tonight than we did Friday night in terms of both effort and execution, but New Mexico State was just a better team than we were tonight," said UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn. "New Mexico State is an experienced team, and you have to give them credit. We made a few more mistakes than I would have liked to see us make, and sometimes little things make a difference in a match like this. I'm proud of our team, and proud of the way we played. New Mexico State is a good team, and we were right there." Since Monday night's match was the final home match of the season, it was preceded by Senior Night ceremonies. The Lady Broncs honored seniors Cynthia Kasper (Austin, TX/Connally HS) and Jessica Lawson (West Covina, CA/South Hills HS) prior to the match. With the loss, the Lady Broncs fell to 13-14, while NMSU improved to 22-6. Texas-Pan American will participate in the Independent Championships at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this weekend.
