EDINBURG, TX -The University of Texas-Pan-American's women's basketball team returns to action when they visit Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne Saturday. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at the Gates Sports Center on the IPFW campus.

The Lady Broncs will take an 8-12 record into Saturday's game. They are coming off Tuesday night's 63-46 victory against Incarnate Word that broke a five-game losing streak.

"It's an early game, and that's something we haven't done much of this year," said UTPA Head Coach DeAnn Craft. "We've had some time to rest, and one of our challenges is to be able to compete on the road."

IPFW is the first fellow independent team that Texas-Pan American is playing this season. The Mastodons are 7-12, and are coming off an 82-81 win at Cleveland State Monday night.

"IPFW has been playing better in the second half of the season," said Craft. "They had a good win at Cleveland State, and they won at Air Force, which is a common opponent. They're very offensive-minded; they will look to outscore you. Incarnate Word was a good offensive team, and we were able to get them out of their rhythm. IPFW has a very good three-point shooter in Amy Gearlds. Against IPFW, we will have to go inside first, and then go outside. That's an area we will have to concentrate on against IPFW."

The Lady Broncs will return home for their next game, next Tuesday night against Northern Colorado.
