WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
FOUR LADY BRONCS EARN ALL-INDEPENDENT HONORS

Edinburg, Texas - Texas-Pan American placed four players on the 2003-04 All-Independent teams. The teams were picked by the head coaches of the NCAA Division I teams; Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas-Pan American, Utah Valley State, IPFW and Northern Colorado.

Molly Schamel (Jr./Hector, N.Y./Yavapai College) was named to the first team. Schamel averaged 8.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and blocked 1.0 shots while shooting 42.3% from the floor. She set the school single-game record for blocked shots with nine vs. Incarnate Word and was named to the Air Force Classic and Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic All-Tournament teams.

Kristi Dudley (Fr./Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill HS) made second team. She averaged 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds a game. She had her first double-double vs. Dayton, which was her second collegiate game.

Amanda Carlow (Sr./Pine Ridge, S.D./Northeast JC) and Dawnne Cheadle (Jr./Roswell, N.M./Seminole State) made Honorable Mention. Carlow averaged 7.1 points, 3.74 assists and 2.15 steals a game while shooting 36.5% on triples. She ranks among the top ten career in assists and steals. Cheadle averaged 4.9 points and 2.2 rebounds a game. She averaged 8.3 points over the last eight games.

"Molly making first team is just incredible." Said head coach DeAnn Craft. "To average eight points and make first team, you know the coaches respect you. These four definitely show the level of talent and the depth that we have."
