LADY BRONCS 10TH AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT NOTRE DAME

NOTRE DAME, IN-The University of Texas-Pan American's women's golf team is in 10th place after two rounds at the 15-team Notre Dame Invitational, at the Warren Golf Course.

The Lady Broncs shot scores of 338 and 328 and for a 36-hole total of 666, leaving them 17 strokes behind Eastern Michigan and Boston College. Northern Iowa is in first place at 623, the host Fighting Irish are second at 626, Bradley is third at 628, Western Michigan is fourth at 633, Ball State is fifth at 638, Xavier is sixth at 639, and Ohio University is seventh at 645.

Following the Lady Broncs are Butler at 675, Arkansas State at 680, Cincinnati at 682, Rutgers at 689 and Wichita State at 693.

Sophomore Stefanie Maynard (Pflugerville, TX/Pflugerville, HS) shot scores of 82 and 79 for a 36-hole total of 161 and is tied for 26th place. Sophomore Daniela Cortes (Aguascalientes, Mexico/ Colegio Portal) shot 85 and 83, and senior Itziar Unanue (Apodaca, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio) shot 86 and 82, and both are tied for 52nd with totals of 168. Sophomore Nikki Boychuk (Conroe, TX/Willis HS) shot 85 and 84 for 169 and is tied for 56th. Junior Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson HS) shot 87 and 88 for 175 and is tied for 73rd, while freshman Natalie Haime (Carleton Place, ON/Perth and District Collegiate Institute) shot 91 and 97 for 188 and is 92nd.

The tournament will conclude Sunday.
