Boerne, Texas - Texas-Pan American improved each round at the Baylor-Tapatio Spring Shootout. UTPA shoot 334-330-327 for a final total of 991. The Lady Broncs will head to Bryant, Arkansas to play in the Trojan Cup, March 29-30.

Indiana shot 896 to win by 13 strokes over Missouri. Rounding out the top five were Texas Tech (3rd - 910), Baylor (4th - 926) and Wisconsin (5th - 931).

It was a dog fight for the individual title. Malinda Johnson of Wisconsin shot 74-72-71 for a 217. She won by one shot over Karen Dennison of Indiana and by two shots over Danah Ford of Indiana. The top Lady Bronc was Nikki Boychuk (So./Conroe, Texas/Willis HS) who shot a 239 and tied for 45th.

"We are still learning how to play in the big tournaments." Said head coach Barb Odale. "We have to settle down and be more relaxed when we play. This (Tapatio Springs) was a difficult course on the back nine and that is where we started each round. It was nice to see us shoot better on the third round than Nebraska, Arkansas State and North Texas. Those schools finished ahead of us so that is encouraging. Danielle Cortes (So./Aguascalientes, Mexico/Colegio Portal) improved greatly over the three rounds."
