LADY BRONCS FOURTH AFTER FIRST ROUND AT ELLINSON FALL CLASSIC

HUNTSVILLE, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's women's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Ellinson Fall Classic, hosted by Sam Houston State at the Waterwood National Golf Club.

The Lady Broncs shot scores of 311 and 313 for a 36-hole total of 624, four strokes behind McNeese State.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is in first place with a score of 608, and host SHSU is second at 619. Following the Lady Broncs are Tarleton State at 633, Texas State-San Marcos at 636, Tyler at 643, McLennan at 65, Lamar at 656, Nicholls State at 657, Texas A&M-Commerce at 668, Southern at 676, Centenary at 741 and Chicago State at 777.

Sophomore Stefanie Maynard (Pflugerville, TX/Pflugerville, HS) led Texas-Pan American, shooting scores of 75 and 77 for a total of 152 and is in eighth place. Sophomore Nikki Boychuk (Conroe, TX/Willis HS) shot 80 and 76 for 156 and is tied for 15th, sophomore Daniela Cortes (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Colegio Portal) shot 78 and 79 for 157 and is tied for 18th, freshman Elizabeth Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood HS) shot 78 and 81 for 159 and is tied for 21st, and senior Itziar Unanue (Apodaca, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio) shot 81 and 91 for 172 and is tied for 49th.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday.
