UTPA WOMEN’S GOLF TEAM 12^TH AT BAYLOR SHOOTOUT

BOERNE, TX—The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team finished 12th at the 12-team Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout at the Tapatio Springs Resort.

The Lady Broncs shot a final-round score of 333 in the three-day, 54-hole event and for a total of 1003, 34 strokes behind Texas-El Paso.

Illinois finished first with a score of 918. The Illini were followed by Missouri at 921, host Baylor at 923, Texas Christian at 925, Kent State at 935, Wisconsin at 942, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 954, Notre Dame at 963, McLennan Community College at 966, and North Texas at 968.

Freshman Stefanie Maynard (Pflugerville, TX/Pflugerville HS) led the Lady Broncs. She shot a final-round score of 79 for a 54-hole total of 240 and a tie for 31st place. Freshman Daniela Cortes (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Colegio Portal) was next, shooting a 78 for 250 and a tie for 48^th. Freshman Nikki Boychuk (Conroe, TX/Willis HS) shot an 85 for 251 and a tie for 51^st, junior Crystal Frazier (Coolidge, TX (Wortham HS) shot a 93 for 264 and 62^nd place, and sophomore Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson HS) shot a 91 for 268 and finished 64^th.

The Lady Broncs will return to action at the Lady Colonel Classic at Eastern Kentucky April 10^th.
