LADY BRONCS FALL

EL PASO, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's women's tennis team lost the first match of their three-match road trip, losing to Texas-El Paso, 6-1, Friday afternoon at the El Paso Tennis Club.

Freshman Laura Boskovich (San Jose, CA/St. Francis HS) earned the only victory for the Lady Broncs, defeating Joanna Furdyna at number three singles. Boskovich lost the first set, 6-4, but won when Furdyna was forced to retire due to an injury.

"Texas-El Paso has a strong team," said UTPA Assistant Coach Elizabeth Middleton. "We played a lot better in doubles than we've been playing, but there are still things that we can improve upon. For the most part, I was pleased with the way we played."

The Lady Broncs fell to 1-4 with the defeat. They will play at New Mexico State Saturday.
