Release: Saturday, November 2, 2002 RAIN WASHES OUT UTSA TOURNAMENT SAN ANTONIO, TX-Inclement weather got the better of the action at the Texas-San Antonio Invitational Tournament Saturday. Rain washed out all of Saturday's matches, and as a result of the weather, the rest of the tournament has been cancelled. Two Lady Bronc doubles teams had advanced to the semi-finals. The team of sophomore Kathryn Waslen (Calgary, AB/West Island College) and freshman Laura Boskovich (San Jose, CA/St. Francis HS) and the team of juniors Jessica Brown (Sioux City, IA/North HS) and Alana Breen (Whistler, BC/Whistler Secondary) both advanced. In singles, Boskovich, Brown and junior Julie Fife (Los Alamos, NM/Los Alamos HS) advanced to the consolation finals after losing their first matches. "I thought we played OK, but I would liked to see us have been able to finish the tournament, and see how we did," said UTPA Head Coach Todd Chapman. "I saw some improvement. We finished the fall season on a positive note going into the off-season. Hopefully, it will carry over into the spring." The tournament concludes Texas-Pan American's fall tennis season.
