2004 TRACK OUTLOOK: Will move into the middle distances this year.
COACH'S COMMENTS: "Amy had a very strong season for us, coming close to a school record in the 400 meters outdoors. Amy is moving into the 800 this year after running it for the first time last year. I'm looking for Amy to be a very strong runner and do great things for us." 2002-03: Set a pair of meet records at the Angela Procter Invitational, finishing first at 100 meters in 12.36, and finishing firt at 400 in 56.97. Her time of 25.06 for 200 meters at the Texas Relays was a PR, as was her time of 2:19.26 for 800 at the Javelina Relays. LOS FRESNOS HS: An outstanding high school runner, Torvik raced to personal bests of 11.90 at 100 meters, and 57.7 at 400 meters. Torvik was a four-time district champ in at 100 meters, and earned Rio Grande Valley Meet of Champions titles in her final two seasons, while setting a meet record of 11.92 seconds in her final Meet of Champions effort. She also won the 400 meter championship as a senior.
