2004
TRACK OUTLOOK:
Will attempt to build on her successful season in cross country. COACHS
COMMENTS: Claudia has battled injuries throughout her tenure
with us, and she has really stepped up and been a great leader for our
cross country team this year. I look for her to have continued success
on the track. 2003 CROSS COUNTRY: Finished 20th at the
Whataburger Invitational, 29th at the Texas A&M-CC Splash, 28th
at the Independent Championships, and 67th as the Lady Broncs' third
runner at the NCAA South Central Regionals. 2002-03: Was 21st at 1500
meters at UTSA's Whataburger Invitational with a PR of 5:14.45. Had
a PR at 3000 meters in the same meet when she finished 11th in 11:03.52.
2002 CROSS-COUNTRY: Rosas was a stabilizing force as she was
either the first or second Lady Bronc finisher in every meet. Rosas
finished in 20:07 at Southwest Texas State to lead the Lady Broncs,
before coming in 11th overall at Texas-San Antonio in 20:27 to help
UTPA to a third-place finish. She ran a strong race at the rugged Texas
A&M Invitational in her first 6000 meter race of the year, leading
the Lady Broncs with a 24:38 finish. Rosas finished 15th at the Southern
Independent Championships, with a season-best mark for 5000 meters of
19:40. PREP: Rosas, a two-time All-State runner, was honored
four times as an All-Rio Grande Valley cross country runner while being
named as her teams MVP on three occasions. During the spring,
she led her team to four district championships with personal bests
of 5:24 for1600 meters, and 11:45 for 3200 meters.
