BRONCS SET GREEN AND WHITE GAME

EDINBURG, TX-With their fall practice schedule nearly completed, The University of Texas-Pan American's baseball team will conduct their annual Green and White game Saturday. The game begins at 12:45 Saturday afternoon at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

The Broncs split their teams evenly. The Green team will be coached by Assistant Coach Johnny Johnson, while the White team will be led by Assistant Coach Kiki Trevino. The teams will play a single, nine-inning game Saturday.

"We'll run it just like a regular game," said UTPA Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "We've found some bright spots in the fall, but we still need some more work. We're way ahead of where we were last year as far as fundamentals are concerned, and defense is probably our strong point right now. We've had some good moments and some bad moments on the mound, and that's to be expected with the youth that we have. Coach Johnson and Coach Trevino will run the teams, and I'll be an observer."

The Broncs will open their spring schedule when they host Texas State-San Marcos January 31, 2004.
