Garrett Jordan/Jourdin was born in South Carolina in 1794. He married
Lucy__?__ , they had three daughters and two sons by 1833, and they resided
in Chambers Co., AL in the 1840s. He served in the Indian War of 1836 (AL)
and received bounty land in Clark County, AR, moving there in 1855. Garrett,
a farmer, is said to have died in 1862 at Indian River Co., AR, but he may
have gone to Texas around the time of the War Between the States.

-- Trail drive drover when a young man. Settled in Cleburn, Johnson County,
Texas. Worked as a butcher in Cleburn, then farmed cotton for two years.
Good crops and high prices brought money used to buy a meat market in Cleburne,
followed by purchase of a small hardware store near the farmer's market.
-- Moved to Bishop, Texas with wife, then following wife's death moved to
Dallas area to work in jobs offered by war (aircraft construction?).
-- Died before Christmas in 1946 or 1947 of the flu in Dallas at about 80
yrs old.
Never remaried after Janie Adeline's death.]
