This innovative master’s program in bilingual education is designed to develop master teacher leaderswith a thorough understanding of effective enrichment bilingual education programs and practices (dual language education) that meet the educational needs of English Language Learners (ELLs). The graduate program in bilingual education prepares students that are empowered to become leaders and change agents in schools and communities committed to providing equal educational opportunities for all children through an enrichment bilingual and bicultural education.
Students in this program will build a strong bilingual education knowledge base in the areas of enrichment bilingual education, second language acquisition, political, social, theoretical and pedagogical principles. Students will select from one of following five specialization areas to build dual expertise for public school program improvement for ELLs: reading, early childhood, special education, gifted and talented and principal certification.
