How would you describe your teaching philosophy or style?

"All children can learn, just not the same way, and not on the same day." I read this a long time ago and I treated my students that way when I was a special educational resource teacher. I teach my classes now with that same philosophy, with the intent that they will eventually do the same.

My expertise is in special education, specifically teaching children with learning disabilities and working with preservice teachers who will have students with special needs in their classrooms.

What you like about teaching at UTPA, especially your take on the students?

I especially like advising and assisting students. I am proud to be a part of a department that has individuals with a variety of impressive research, service, and commitment to the field of educational psychology.
