Counselor Education Program
Online Advisement and Registration Process

LPC Students only: Please contact Dr. Silva.

To participate in the Online Advisement and Registration Process,
follow the following steps.



Step One:
Download Forms

If you haven't already filled out the Plan of Study form, download the Plan of Study form. Please note that all new students are in the 48-hour program.

If you are in the 48-hour M.Ed. program,
DOWNLOAD PLAN OF STUDY FORM NOW.

If you do not have a degree plan, then
DOWNLOAD A COPY OF THE DEGREE PLAN NOW.



Step Two:
Fill Out Forms on Your Computer

Fill out the Plan of Study (and Degree Plan, if needed) on your computer. Make sure you follow the course sequencing rules laid out on the Plan of Study form.



Step Three:
Send the Forms to Your Advisor

Below you will find your adivisor, based on the first letter of your last name.

Alvarado A-C
Shen  GA-GO
Castro GO-GU
Kranz H-N
Sparrow O-R
Castillo D-F and S
Rice T-Z
 

Then generate an email to your advisor by clicking on his or her name below. 


Write a message to your advisor explaining what courses you want to take, along with any other information that your advisor will need to review your request, and attach the completed Plan of Study (and Degree Plan if needed) to the email.

Send the email to your advisor. Follow up with a phone call if you do not hear from your advisor within 24 hours. The phone numbers are on the Advisor's Page.


Step Four:
Advisor Approves and Returns Form or Sets up a Meeting

Your advisor will email you back your form with an approval or a request for more information.

If your advisor cannot approve your request without meeting with you, he/she will request an office meeting.




Step Five:
Print Out Forms and Take Them to the Ed. Psych. Office

Print out a copy of 1) the email, 2)  the hardcopy of your Plan of Study form, and 3) Degree Plan (only if needed).  Take these documents to the Ed. Psychology office. The Clerk will have your advisor sign the form(s), and it will be placed in your student file. You will then be allowed the register for the courses that you and your advisor have agreed to.
