Masters in Clinical Psychology at UT-Pan American

The Masters in Clinical Psychology, located in the Department of Psychology & Anthropology is designed to provide theory, research-based assessment and intervention strategies, skills training, practice knowledge, DSM based diagnostic assessment skills, clinical  experience, and supervision of professional practices in the field of applied psychology. Multicultural professional practices are emphasized as the community service-base is largely bilingual (English/Spanish) and of Hispanic origin.

Benefits of the Program

This program is designed to provide students with the prerequisite academic and internship requirements for taking the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologist Exam for licensure as a Psychological Associate (PA). By taking two additional graduate courses in the Educational Psychology Department, the graduate of the Masters in Clinical Psychology is additionally eligible for taking the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors Exam for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The LPC license requires an additional 2000 hours of supervised experience after graduation.
